The Final Experience

Design Goals

After living outside of New England for years, clients who love to entertain at home purchased this house to be closer to family and friends during summers and holiday seasons.

Built in 2007, the home needed to function better for the clients’ lifestyle as well as reflect their preference for Contemporary Coastal New England style.

Solutions

The new interior design made this single-family home into a relaxing place for the clients to vacation and host their friends and family. The home now has open, welcoming spaces and a casual comfortable feel throughout.

The kitchen was updated and expanded into the breakfast area, and living areas were reconfigured, allowing the clients to interact better with family and guests.

New furnishings and decor were selected for the living room, sun room, den, breakfast area and primary bedroom, and new decorative and architectural lighting was added. The clients’ antique juke boxes, artwork and several furnishings from their Florida home were incorporated throughout.

Coastal Context

The clients’ preference for Contemporary Coastal New England style was carried throughout the home. The floors were refinished with a natural look. Furnishings and decorative elements have a light, airy color palette of warm whites, neutrals, blues, greens, and silver and gold tones.

Hand-picked fine art

The interior design features framed prints of coastal and beach scenes by photographer Susan Auriemma.
